Abstract: Transgender individuals, when compared to cisgender ones, have worse psychological well-being because they show low scores in social support and family bonding dimensions, therefore, health care attention should to be given not only to formal methods of gender adequacy, but also to internal, external and cultural factors impacting the transgender population, since gender identity construction is a multifactorial process that takes time and must occur uninterruptedly. The objective of this work is to assess transgender people’s well-being, investigating the relationship between gender identity and psychosomatics, observing how trans subjects, inserted in their family environment and sociocultural context, understand and feel their own body, in relation to the other, and what their demands and conflicts are. As method, a qualitative analysis of the discourse, in a total of 34 open individual interviews, carried out with 11 transgender subjects and a non-binary one, recruited by snowballing, is used. The conclusion is that external family factors, especially the motherly figure, have a crucial impact both on the transition process and on the well-being of the transgender person. In addition, multifactorial aspects, such as the detransition phenomenon, and the very depathologization of transgender existence should be better understood in adult population in order to optimize health teams’ performance when assisting that social group.

Abstract: Introduction: the puerperal state is a clinical case derivative from puerperium of a sub-jective and singular character that, when severe, affects the postpartum woman in a way which obnubilates her consciousness and annuls her volition, leaving her vulnerable to have thoughts and/or commits extreme atitudes, as like killing her own child, in order to externalize her feeling of refusal/repulse/hesitation by the infant. The duration of this state, however, is uncertain, since it’s directly harnessed to such mom’s internal factors (selflessness of motherhood) as well as external ones (family, social and economic envi-ronment). Objectives: the study of the puerperal state to estimate its duration and, the-refore, estipulate the majors and minors deegrees of influence capable of causing related psychological disorders, in addition to understanding the externalities that subjects wo-men to the noted condition of social and moral vulnerability. Method: documental, bi-bliographical and applied research, of a descriptive and qualitative nature and of a non-experimental cross-sectional study with a retrospective observational character. The research has contented in extracting five lawsuits involving the death of the infant by his mother and, compulsing the material collected from the cases files, proceeded to the analysis of the factual situation portrayed through the mother’s, officer’s involved in the situation and closest friends and family members’ testimonies, besides available medial reports and mother’s historical life data. With the informations in hand, the cases were submitted to the Infanticide’s Mental Status Questionnaire to verify their clinical condi-tions. Finally, the answers were crossed with the researched bibliographical content. Results: the studies pointed to a uncertainty in the exact delimitation of the puerperal state in terms of its duration, as it is strongly linked to the subjectivity of each woman. However, there was a greater influence of this state in periods immediately after child-birth, mainly because the presence of the hormonal peak and moment of greater tension. In at least four of the five cases studied, certain similarities were observed in the contex-to in which the mother is inserted, which are: 1. lower social class, 2. disrupted family, 3. fear of low or none family’s support for her pregnancy, 4. absent baby’s father figure, 5. unwanted pregnancy and 6. mother’s age normally between 18 and 25 years. Conclu-sion: The lack of social and family support generates a self-confidence debilitation in the pregnant woman and, allied to the absence of the infant’s father figure, lets her vul-nerable to the psychic alterations caused by the puerperal state and, therefore, have your rational volition inhibited in favor of extreme thoughts that, if not treated preventively, could lead to the baby’s assassination. The puerperal state, as it is directly connected to the woman’s essence, cannot have its duration precisely defined, once it is subject to its most variable singularities. However, for purposes of punishment in the legal environ-ment, must be given na expansive interpretation to the article 123 of the Penal Code in order to also encompass women who commit infanticide days, or even weeks, after childbirth — since they are influenced by the puerperal state

Abstract: The present work aims to present an investigation on mental health indicators in health professionals who work in humanitarian actions. Humanitarian work has proven to be dangerous over the years, causing over time, emotional or physical trauma to many professionals. Due to several natural disasters, which affected large nations, the number of Organizations and Humanitarian Actions has increased. To deal with disasters, the humanitarian worker needs to be able to deal with flexibility and adapt quickly to the reality of the current context, running the risk of developing symptoms of depression, PTSD - Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and compassion fatigue, a syndrome of biological, psychological and social exhaustion, a very important indicator, studied in health professionals, considered the greatest threat to the mental health of professionals, especially those who work directly with trauma and victims. Health professionals, in direct contact with people who are suffering, at risk of death, or in pain, can lead them to a secondary model of prolonged stress, called Compassion Fatigue, which can be labeled as “Cost of caring”, or “Emotional pain”. The methodology used was a cross-sectional, descriptive exploratory research, carried out using the chain reference sampling technique or the snowball technique. The study was conducted online through the Google Forms survey management application. The results show that these professionals receive more support from family than leadership, colleagues, and friends, and the younger the professional, the higher the compassion fatigue index.

Abstract: Dysphagia in the pediatric population can have a detrimental effect on food intake, growth and development. In addition, negative psychological and social consequences can affect parents and family members, as the demand for care, difficulties, concerns and responsibilities can lead the caregiver to overload, isolation, fatigue and stress. Objectives: To verify the impact on the daily life of the dysphagia caregiver, through the use of the instruments Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory™ - Family Impact Module (PedsQL™ - FIM), and the Feeding/Swallowing Impact Survey (FS-IS). Method: Descriptive observational study, in which all caregivers of infants and children with the diagnosis of oropharyngeal dysphagia were invited to participate, during hospitalization or in speech therapy, from May 2022 to September 2022, at the Hospital of Children and Maternity and at the Reikilibre rehabilitation clinic – São José do Rio Preto. Results: 43 caregivers participated in the study, with a mean age of 35.6 years and 93% female. The children's mean age was 3.85 years and a median of 2.0 years; the minimum age was 22 days (0.07 years) and the maximum was 14 years. Severe dysphagia was the predominant diagnosis of dysphagia, in 29 (67.4%) cases. 74.4% received exclusive alternative feeding form. In the application of the PedsQL™ - FIM, it was observed that the average values remained between 50 and 60 points, showing the impact suffered by caregivers. The most affected domain was “Worry”, followed by “Daily activities” and “Emotional aspect”. In the application of the FS-IS, it was possible to observe that the most affected domains were “Daily activities”, “Concern”, followed by “Difficulties in eating”. There was a strong negative correlation between the FS-IS total score and the PedsQL™ - FIM total score, as well as with the HRQOL and Family Functioning subscales. The three FS-IS subscales also correlated negatively with the total PedsQL™ - FIM score and its subscales. Therefore, the more the impact on caregivers' daily lives, assessed by FS-IS, the lower the quality of life assessed by PedsQL™ - FIM. Conclusions: It was possible to conclude that caregivers of children with oropharyngeal dysphagia have negative impacts in the family environment, in daily activities and with concerns.
